But so many people would hire you for having wrote that, well not that but just anything publicly that other people use.

The technical hiring manager and whole team might get so many kicks out of it. Culture fit level 100.

Just like there are no dependency audits, there are no open source code audits from potential candidates either. Okay maybe one of the devs at a company might stalk the candidate’s github, I’ve seen that at prior companies I’ve worked at, but all the stars, forks, and downloads will mitigate that and leave everyone with the conclusion that the candidate writes clean code that doesn’t crash.
